21. The How & Why of Using Artificial Intelligence in Your Nonprofit

About this episode

In this episode of The Intentional Fundraiser, I’m delighted to be talking with Michael Gorriarán. Michael is the President of Arjuna Solutions.

They are an artificial intelligence technology company, that enables nonprofits to meet their donors where they are:

  • To gain insights into donor sentiment and affinity based on their behaviors

  • And then ensuring this knowledge is directly translated, so you can ask for the right gift value, for the right impact area, at the right time.

  • Helping us raise more money, at a lower cost, and saving us precious time.

Prior to joining Arjuna Solutions, Michael served in executive roles in the global technology sector for more than 30 years, with companies like Microsoft, Xerox, and other early-stage, high-growth business ventures.

Michael holds an MBA from the J.L. Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University, and a bachelor’s degree in Marketing, with concentrated studies in Economics and Spanish, from the University of Rhode Island.

He is an avid distance runner, outdoor enthusiast, and active parent of two with his wife Kris. Michael was also the Chairman of the Board of the Oregon Council for Hispanic Advancement.

"The question is how do you find the donor precisely where they exist in their sentiment toward the nonprofit? And do you know when to ask and how much to ask? That's where behavioral economics modeling comes in."

- Michael Gorriarán, President, Arjuna Solutions
